Devil in the Details

These photos are from my study abroad program in Paris. The theme of the class was architecture of the chateaux and other iconic French buildings and places. I focused my work on the conjunction of ruling class and religion in France prior to the Revolution. This project could be improved on, but it was very in the moment. I would love to return to France and take pictures endlessly of the cityscapes, landscapes and minute details all around. The notable thing about this project for me is that I challenged myself not to use black and white for the class. I had brought film and a couple of cameras for my own personal use, but digital was for class. I would love to really experience Paris like I did the first time and just shoot my photographs from my heart and on film, because by the time I got to the vacation part of my trip, I was immensely burnt out and then my personal life flipped upside down so I didn’t get to photograph as much as I wanted in my personal way.
