Social Distortion
On March 20, 2020, I was told my job was closing for a minimum of two weeks. Those two weeks turned into six.
The state of Ohio was shut down and my whole life was pulled from under me in the matter of a weekend. During that time, I felt afraid, stressed, and most of all, that I needed to do something to show what this was like.
My solution was to pull out my beloved 1974 Polaroid SX-70 and capture the world around me as we collectively dealt with a virus snaking through the world.
These photographs were shot from April 8 to May 3, 2020.
Social Distortion was awarded the third place in the Dublin Area Art League’s summer 2022 juried exhibition, “Endangered.”
